WorldWise Workshops

To support schools at different stages of their WorldWise partnerships, we're running a series of workshops throughout the autumn.

The Stage 1 workshop (offered in Dublin and then Cork) is for teachers whose schools are in the early stages of their partnership. The Stage 2/3 workshop ( in Cork and Dublin also) is for teachers whose school partnerships are more mature and who wish to build and consolidate them. These workshops are run on Saturdays. They start at 10am and run until about 4pm.

The Student Visit workshops are for schools whose students will be travelling to their partner school this year. Note: we can accommodate a maximum of six students per school at this workshop and priority will be given to WorldWise DEIS funded schools.

For more information about any of these events, or to register for them, contact Althea O'Sullivan at (01) 887 1257or email worldwise@leargas.ie.

Student Development Education Workshops

WorldWise and IDEA have created a series of three development education workshops designed specifically for WorldWise schools:

Workshop 1: An introduction to Development and School Linking

Workshop 2: Setting a Global Context for your School Partnership

Workshop 3: County/issue specific session, tailor-made for individual schools

A panel of IDEA facilitators is now available to deliver these workshops to schools all over Ireland. They are designed to be run as a suite of three workshops. Each one costs €120 and runs for approx. two hours. WorldWise schools may use part of their Project Grant funding to pay for the workshops. For more information contact Althea O'Sullivan at (01) 887 1257or email worldwise@leargas.ie.

WorldWise Annual Forum

Once again, on 27 January 2011, WorldWise will run its annual student and teacher forum. Participating Schools and networks are being contacted in November /early December to book their places.
