From Poverty to Prosperity. Tearfund launches cost benefit analysis report of Self Help Groups in Ethiopia

Minister Joe Costello will launch the Tearfund report which highlights the exceptional returns on investment that can be achieved through supporting and facilitating self help groups. The report by economist Courtney Cabot Venton is based on evidence from 10 years of programming and demonstrates that for every dollar invested, benefits ranging between $58 and $173 are generated. These returns are some to the highest reported in recent literature.

Introduction to Humanitarian Emergencies

This course is aimed at both members of the general public who are keen to learn more about what actually happens in emergencies and how communities, governments and aid agencies respond, and at those working in government or aid organisations who are involved at head office level in some aspect of emergencies (for example in fundraising, public relations, awareness raising or development education) but who are not actually on the front line and as a consequence do not have direct field experience of emergency response.

Commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda

The Rwandan community in Ireland would like to commemorate the genocide that happened in our country of origin (Rwanda). We want to remember all our families, our friends who died killed in Rwanda in 1994.
