EU Volunteering

An EU Aid Volunteers initiative has been established by the European Community Humanitarian Office. It provides training and opportunities for volunteers to volunteer in non-conflict locations where humanitarian crises are ongoing. The initiative is open to a variety of profiles, from newcomers to experienced professionals. It is expected that this initiative will deploy18, 400 volunteers from 2014-2020 (including the citizens of EU countries and of disaster affected countries) and will also offer 10,000 online volunteering opportunities. A network will be created, so that all EU Aid Volunteers and other stakeholders can interact with and support each other before, during and after deployment. The deployment of EU Aid Volunteers began in December 2015.
